Royal highlights of the month – July 2018

We're booking tickets to Mallorca as we speak! The Spanish royal family and their lush surroundings were picture-perfect as they posed for a sweet series of snaps while on their annual summer holiday in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

Posing at the Almudaina Palace, the foursome was perfectly coordinated in blue and white ensembles. Leonor and Sofia were boho chic in their A-line dresses with eyelet detailing and wedge sandals, while Letizia opted for a sleeveless mesh dress nipped at the waist and espadrilles. King Felipe looked cool and casual in grey jeans and a blue button-up shirt.

One month after welcoming her second daughter, baby Lena, Zara Tindall was out looking happy and healthy as she presented the trophy at the 2018 International Day Polo at The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club on July 28 in Windsor.

Zara looked chic in a blue A-line collared dress with lace panelling and a pair of black thong sandals. She kept warm in a grey shawl and pulled her hair back into a relaxed bun, topping it all off with a pair of tortoiseshell sunglasses.

Meghan presented the trophy to the winning team at the Sentebale Polo Cup on July 26 - which happened to include her husband, on whom she planted a congratulatory kiss, and his close friend Nacho Figueras. The duchess proved her hubby's biggest fan as she cheered from the sidelines alongside Nacho's fashionable wife Delfina.

Dame Judi Dench and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall cooled off in the Isle of Wight with a couple of ice cream cones. The actress, who has played both Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, joined the royal on the private beach of Queen Victoria's former home, Osborne House, on July 24. Dame Judi, who is patron of Friends of Osborne House, looked lovely in a white blouse and grey linen topper while Camilla donned a white dress with ruffled detailing and a pearl necklace for the occasion.

Prince Harry and Elton John also met some young fans while at the International AIDS Conference. While there, the duo launched their Menstar Coalition, which will help promote HIV testing for men and work to eradicate the AIDS epidemic by 2030.

Day two of Harry's royal engagement in Amsterdam saw the prince attend the International AIDS Conference on July 25. There, Harry reunited with his longtime family friend Elton John, who runs the AIDS Foundation's Annual 'An Enduring Vision' Benefit each year. The duo embraced on stage.

Belgium's royal family went glam for a photoshoot celebrating the fifth anniversary of King Philippe ascending the throne. The 58-year-old strutted the palace grounds alongside his wife Queen Mathilde, 45, and their four gorgeous children - Princess Eléonore, 10, Prince Gabriel, 14, first-in-line to the throne Princess Elisabeth, 16, and 12-year-old Prince Emmanuel. The men looked dapper in suits while the women donned their best summer-chic ensembles!

In one striking photo, the monarch proudly poses in the palace with his teenage daughter, heir apparent Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant. The 16-year-old looks all grown up in her floral trousers, pink blouse and hair in an elegant blowout. She is currently studying for her International Baccalaureate at the exclusive UWC Atlantic College in Wales.

Picture perfect! Queen Mathilde looks gorgeous in the third photo, wearing a soft pink dress with a fluttery sleeve and a thin belt a la Meghan Markle. She stands close to her husband, King Philippe, who looks handsome in his navy suit. The happy couple, who met while playing tennis, will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary next year.

Crown Princess Victoria turned 41 on July 14 and marked the occasion with a fun public celebration! Her picture-perfect family - husband Prince Daniel, six-year-old Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, 2 - was dressed to impress at Solliden Palace as they greeted fans and posed for photos. The Duchess of Västergötland's parents, Queen Silvia and King Carl XVI Gustaf, were also on-hand and looking wonderful at the festivities.

Queen Elizabeth II met with President Donald Trump and First Lady, Melania Trump at Windsor Castle on July 13. Her Majesty welcomed the duo at the dais in the Quadrangle of the Castle. A Guard of Honour, formed of the Coldstream Guards, gave a Royal Salute and the US National Anthem was played.

Museum buddies! Former President Barack Obama chatted with King Felipe VI of Spain on a private tour of the Reina Sofia modern art museum in Madrid on July 7. The powerful pair admired masterpieces from the likes of Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali.
Barack was in Spain for a conference on technological innovation and the circular economy, which minimizes waste. To an audience of 2000 people, he said: "Change is happening very quickly. People are wondering, 'can I adapt to these changes?' People are fearful ... Today because of the internet, and because of the multiplicity of media what we see more and more is that we don't agree on the same reality," he said.
The politician continued: "If you watch Fox News you see a different reality than if you read the New York Times."

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince William made a trip to Scotland for The Thistle Service at St. Giles Cathedral on July 6. The service honours the Order of the Thistle, which is Scotland's order of chivalry dating back to 1687.
