School’s out for summer! After completing his very first year of school, Prince George is officially on vacation. His doting parents Prince William and Duchess Kate must be beaming with pride for their first-born child, who will be returning to Thomas’s Battersea Day School come the fall.
George’s first day of school was certainly one to remember and made for the sweetest father-son snaps. The two princes were photographed walking hand-in-hand towards the school together and stopping to shake hands with Helen Haslem, head of the lower school, before posing on the front steps.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children have had a lot of excitement this year, like attending Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding and welcoming a new member, Prince Louis – and George has more than just summer family fun to look forward to. The young prince will also be celebrating his fifth birthday this month! Though the Cambridge clan typically enjoys these events in private, fans of the family are likely to see an adorable new portrait of the future king to mark his fifth trip around the sun.
While holiday and birthday celebrations will be keeping the little prince very busy, a big change to his family will make these few months extra special. The four-year-old is officially a big brother again to two-month-old Prince Louis, who was born on April 23. While he is definitely too young to play with George and their sister Princess Charlotte, it will still be sweet to have the family of five all together.
The quintet will make their first public outing at Prince Louis’ christening on July 9 at St. James’s Palace in London, with family members like the Queen, Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in attendance. Charlotte will also be there, and if her past outings are any indication, she’s sure to steal the show!
