See what Meghan Markle said about Toronto during a walkabout in Dublin

The Duchess of Sussex has made a happy home with the Duke of Sussex at the couple’s Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace. But that doesn’t mean the new royal has forgotten all about her former hometown. “I miss Toronto!” shared an emotional Meghan during a walkabout at Trinity College in Dublin on Wednesday (July 11). The declaration came during a sweet exchange with a well-wisher who was visiting Ireland from Toronto. “It’s a great place,” added Meghan, before thanking the Canadian fan for coming out to support the royal couple on their first tour as husband and wife.

Another royal well wisher named Fiona Moore recalled her own conversation with the duchess, revealing that along with Toronto, Meghan misses another part of her pre-royal life. "I'm a fan of Suits and I said to her that I miss it," said Fiona, adding that the former actress replied, "So do I!"

It comes as no surprise that the duchess has nothing but fond feelings for the Canadian metropolis, having lived there for seven years while filming her hit television legal drama Suits. Toronto is also where Meghan and Prince Harry made their first official appearance together as a couple at the 2017 Invictus Games and where the 33-year-old royal reportedly asked Doria Ragland for her daughter’s hand in marriage.

From shopping for flowers at Avenue and Davenport to dining at her favourite restaruants to walking her dogs in Trinity Bellwoods park to shopping in Yorkville with pals like Jessica Mulroney, Meghan became a fixture around town and an honorary Torontonian.

Earlier this year, Hello! Canada and host Dina Pugliese joined forces on the short documentary Meghan's Toronto to explore the city through the former resident's eyes. After chatting with some of her trusted fitness and beauty gurus, including hair colourist Luis Pacheco and trainer Dr. Craig McNamee, and beloved designers like Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan of Mackageand Sentaler's Bojana Sentaler, we discovered the role the city played in taking Meghan Markle from Rachel Zane to royalty!
