Will Meghan Markle follow in Kate's footsteps by doing this at Wimbledon?

By Meaghan Wray

Royal watchers are over the moon at the prospect of seeing Meghan Markle and Duchess Kate together in the Wimbledon stands on Saturday (July 14). Though the two have attended the annual championships in years prior, their paths have never crossed. Now that they are both royals and will be enjoying a girl’s day out without Prince William or Prince Harry, we’re hoping the Duchess of Cambridge’s amazing emotive expression will rub off on Meghan.

Kate’s love of sports is well-documented , both before and after entering the royal fold when she exchanged vows with William in 2011. From her days on the cross channel Sisterhood rowing team to playing bandy hockey in Sweden, dragon boat racing in Canada and family ski trips, the duchess is always up for an athletic challenge. And when the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club makes an appearance in the Wimbledon stands, you best believe she’ll be cheering – and reacting to the game with her famous roller coaster of facial expressions. But will the new duchess be following in Kate’s expressive footsteps?

While Meghan is less into sports and more into fitness , she is always so supportive of one of her best friends, tennis pro Serena Williams, who will be competing for the trophy in the Ladies’ Singles Final. For the former actress’s first Wimbledon outing, she was definitely keeping it cool in stands, watching the game intently without betraying too much emotion. But given her otherwise expressive outings as a royal , we’re expecting her to be swayed by Kate’s infectious excitement.

On top of feeding off each other’s energy, the duchesses are likely to show off some of their most fabulous looks for summer. Hot on the heels of Meghan’s stylish tour in Ireland , and Duchess Kate’s stunning Alexander McQueen looks for both Prince Louis’ christening and the RAF centenary , their Wimbledon debut together will surely be one for the style books.
