Prince William, Kate and their families looked picture-perfect in their official christening photos, released on Sunday by Kensington Palace, but a special fifth shot shared with fans on Monday (July 16) shows just who was having the most fun on his big day: Prince Louis! The two-month-old's huge smile is on full display in the intimate portrait as the baby giggles in his mother the Duchess of Cambridge's arms.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released an additional photograph taken following the christening of Prince Louis," said the official Twitter account. "The Duke and Duchess hope that everyone enjoys this lovely photograph of Prince Louis as much as they do." Photographer Matt Porteous is credited with taking the sweet snap on little Louis' big day.
Fans delighted in seeing the duke and duchess, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis arrive together for their newest member's baptism at St. James's Palace last Monday (July 9) - their first outing as a family of five! And the quintet was photographed together for the first time in the stunning christening photos, taken in the Morning Room at Clarence House and the gardens outside.
The group shots feature grandparents the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall and Michael and Carole Middleton, plus doting aunts and uncles Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, James Middleton, pregnant Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews. A sweet standing shot of the Cambridges has cutie Charlotte holding on to her baby brother's Honiton lace christening robe - the same one she and George wore at their baptisms - while her big brother poses with one hand in his pocket. And a fourth photograph showed Kate gazing adoringly at her little one outside the house.
Matt Holyoak, who shot the Queen and Prince Philip for their 70th anniversary, is responsible for the gorgeous portraits celebrating the fifth-in-line to the British throne. The famed celebrity photographer was delighted to have the opportunity, saying, "I was truly honoured at being asked to take the official photographs at the christening of Prince Louis, and to witness at first hand such a happy event. Everyone was so relaxed and in such good spirits, it was an absolute pleasure. I only hope I have captured some of that joy in my photographs."
