Mike Tindall was on hand to support his cousin Prince Harry’s Sentebale Polo Cup in Windsor or Thursday (July 26) – and also to give a sweet update on his newborn daughter with Zara Tindall, baby Lena. The former rugby player opened up about how his second baby has been fairing in England’s intense heatwave, joking that the hot weather has made Lena Tindall’s clothes unnecessary, as she just lives in diapers.
Lena (pronounced Lay-na) was welcomed into the royal fold on June 18, joining her adorable older sister, four-year-old Mia Tindall. Speaking about his family, Mike gushed: “So far, so good, I can’t complain – it eats, sleeps … [Zara] wanted to come but it was not possible. She’s doing really well – it’s been brilliant so far.” But a baby in a heatwave means less need of a wardrobe. “It’s a bit hot, you buy all these clothes and they never need them, we just use nappies, but I’m not going to complain about hot weather in England.”
At only two weeks old, the couple’s newborn baby girl is already settling into their family. Though Mia is over the moon to have a new sibling to play with, it can be hard for firstborn children to adjust to the new company. But thanks to thoughtful pals and fans, it’s been a breeze! “[Mia] is very happy to be a big sister, she is happy about that,” Mike shared with Hello!. “We are lucky that people that have sent Lena a present have also thought about Mia, so she is getting stuff to open as well.”
Mike, 39, and Zara, 37, also seem to be having a relatively smooth foray into being parents of two. “We’re doing alright at the moment. We’ve had a couple of bad nights with her but otherwise she has started off strong,” the former rugby player said. In fact, less than two weeks after welcoming Lena into the world, the two stepped out to attend the Celtic Manor Resort’s Celebrity Cup gold tournament with Mia, dusting off their best outfits for the dinner later that evening.
