Princess Charlotte will learn two special skills at school this year

After a whirlwind summer of royal vacationing, Princess Charlotte is heading back to school for her second year at the exclusive Willcocks Nursery School in Kensington – and the little royal is set to pick up not one, but two new skills. At just three years old, Charlotte and her classmates at the $24,000-a-year institution will learn the art of poetry and pottery when they head back to the classroom on Sept. 5.

On top of these two talents, Charlotte will also be picking up reading and writing, and we’re willing to bet it won’t be long before the determined little girl masters all four! Willcocks’ website states: “It is a fun and structured morning with lots of free play where children embark on the first stages of learning to read, write and to understand simple numbers with the minimum of pressure.” For five days a week and three hours per day, the royal will be fine-tuning her skills to pass along to her new little brother, Prince Louis, who joined the Cambridge family on April 23 .

While it’s not known whether the youngster will be enrolled in the morning or afternoon session, she’ll surely have a lot of time outside of school to do homework with mom, Duchess Kate , and socialize with friends. This is a big year for the princess, as it’s her final at Willcocks before starting primary school in Sept. 2009. She’s likely to head off to the same one as big brother Prince George, Thomas’s Battersea, and royal watchers will be excited to see her adorable first-day photos in her new uniform. At that time, George will be starting his third year at the school, perfectly paving the way for his little sister to join him on campus. With a foundation based on Willcocks’s ethos of “high standards, excellence and good manners,” she’s sure to be ready for the big leagues!

This year was a defining one for Charlotte, who officially became a big sister and took her second turn as a bridesmaid in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. Taking some well-deserved time abroad with her family, she then packed her bags – with the help of mom and dad! – and headed to the Caribbean island of Mustique . Well rested after some family time soaking up the sun, the Cambridges are currently in Balmoral, where the three-year-old is enjoying some quality time with her great-grandmother. Charlotte is well on her way to having one of her best years yet!
