The Duchess of Sussex is a constant figure on best-dressed lists around the world, and now the 37-year-old can add another title to her list of accolades, Tatlermagazine’s Girl of the Year. The British society and lifestyle publication announced on Thursday (Aug 30) that Meghan has won the top spot on this year’s list and will appear in the glossy’s October issue. It is an honour she now shares with a long list of famous faces, including Prince Harry’s former flame Cressida Bonas and his cousin Lady Kitty Spencer. Fellow royal Lady Amelia Windsor, whose grandfather is the Queen’s cousin, models alongside rugby star Maro Itoje on the cover of the issue, which hits newsstands in early September.

“There was only ever one option for Tatler’s Girl of the Year 2018 really, wasn’t there? Meghan Markle, newly the Duchess of Sussex, has been the most talked about woman worldwide for the last nine months, ever since her engagement to our most eligible bachelor Prince Harry was announced,” reads a statement on the magazine’s website. The popular publication also named Meghan to their best-dressed list earlier this month, citing her wedding gown as proof of the former Suits star’s sartorial prowess: "Prince Harry's Californian bride blew us away with her Givenchy wedding dress and has redefined modern royal style with every subsequent appearance."

Meghan will likely be surrounded by many of her fellow Girl of the Years at Princess Eugenie's upcoming wedding to Jack Brooksbank. The bride-to-be is close friends with Cressida and is credited for setting her up with Prince Harry back in 2012. She is also friendly with another one of her cousin's exes, Chelsy Davy, who, along with model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne, is expected to attend her Oct 12 nuptials at Windsor Castle.
Princess Eugenie's wedding will be extra special for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as they'll be back in the same venue where they said 'I do' just a few months ago. The eyes of the world were on St. George's Chapel on May 19 as the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family gathered to watch the couple's romantic union. The 600-strong guest list included everyone from Sir Elton John to David and Victoria Beckham to Idris Elba and Oprah.
