Meghan Markle is a woman who wears many hats. Not only is she a former actress and dedicated humanitarian, but she has now captivated the world as England’s Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry’s other half. Any alma mater would be lucky to include her on their alumni page, and Northwestern University did just that. A description of the duchess is featured alongside other incredible graduates – but the school forgot one key aspect of Meghan’s life.
After spending seven years living in Toronto and working on the hit paralegal show Suits, the 37-year-old gave up her spot at the bar in exchange for the palace. A noteworthy shift from Hollywood to British royalty, the former actress was an obvious choice for the alumni page of the university, where she spent 2000 to 2003 pursuing a double major in theatre and international studies. Her description reads “humanitarian and Duchess of Sussex,” and while both of these are true, fans were quick to point out that it was missing a key descriptor … Actress!
Fan Instagram account @harrysmegri shared a snap of the page, which says “You can do anything when you take a Northwestern direction.” The account owner accompanied the photo with the caption: “The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle is at the top of the illustrious alum page in #Northwestern University’s newest student recruiting catalog.” One of Meghan’s loyal followers commented on the photo, writing: “Nice, but would prefer ‘former actress, humanitarian, and Duchess of Sussex.”
But nonetheless, we’re sure Meghan would be honoured to be included on a list of such esteemed graduates, which includes IBM’s chairman, president and CEO Virginia Rometty, as well as American supermodel Cindy Crawford . Actor Warren Beatty, comedian Stephen Colbert and Hugh Hefner, the late founder of Playboy Magazine, also grace the list, making Northwestern’s roster of alumnus one for the books.
