Meghan Markle revealed her 'something blue' in a new promo for ITV's Queen of the World documentary, and it's beyond sweet. The duchess paid tribute to her first date with Prince Harry by having a little piece of the blue dress she wore sewn into her veil, a detail she revealed as she was reunited with her stunning Givenchy wedding gown and intricately embroidered veil for the highly anticipated doc about the Royal Family.
"Beautiful," she said as she delicately touched her veil. "Somewhere in here, there's a piece of… did you see it? The piece of blue fabric that's stitched inside? It was my 'something blue.' It's fabric from the dress that I wore on our first date." This is the first time the royal has shared this sentimental detail, and the interviewer was clearly as dazzled as anyone, saying, "That's about the most romantic thing I've ever heard," to which Meghan giggled.
Clad in what appears to be the same navy Roland Mouret dress that she wore on the eve of her wedding, the 37-year-old gets teary eyed as she sees the gown that changed her entire life - and cemented her love with her Prince Charming. The couple has never hid their feelings for one another, from the touches and hand-holding for which they've become known to the way they speak about and support each other's projects while brimming with pride.
The couple shared the story of their first blind date during their first joint interview following their engagement. "I was beautifully surprised when I walked into that room and saw her. I was like, 'Okay, well I'm going to have to up my game,'" the Duke of Sussex revealed. He was clearly smitten from that first moment!
"The fact that I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly was sort of confirmation to me that everything, all the stars were aligned, everything was just perfect," Harry gushed. "It was this beautiful woman just sort of literally tripped and fell into my life, I fell into her life. And the fact, I know the fact that she'll be really unbelievably good at the job part of it as well is obviously a huge relief to me because she'll be able to deal with everything else that comes with it. But we're a fantastic team, we know we are, and we hope to over time try and have as much impact for all the things we care about as much as possible."
