Prince Harry and Meghan Markle secretly jetted to Amsterdam this weekend, but it wasn't for a charity gala or to take in the sites. The royal couple reportedly spent three days in the Netherlands to toast the latest outpost of Soho House, a private member club that is significant to the couple for a number of reasons, from their first date to her bachelorette party. And they weren't the only famous faces in the house, according to the Evening Standard!
The three-day celebration also played host to the likes of actors Eddie Redmayne, Jenna Coleman, Stanley Tucci, Lily Cole and Douglas Booth, among others, who were reportedly promised a weekend of “eating, drinking, napping, dancing, boats and bikes.” The Sussexes were also able to toast founder Nick Jones on his 55th birthday, which was feted with a feast at Cecconi's restaurant that featured tiramisu and lobster spaghetti. And while the royal pair participated in a brunch the next day, and perhaps some luxurious treatments at the Cowshed spa, they are said to have skipped Friday night's walking tour of the red-light district.
Soho House plays a major role in Prince Harry and Meghan's romance. It has been said that the club's consultant, Markus Anderson, set the duo up on their first blind date at London's Soho House, where they hit it off instantly. This would make sense as Markus is a good friend of Meghan's and was pictured at the Invictus Games in Toronto when the former actress and her prince made their official debut as a couple. The lovebirds were also reported to have popped by Toronto's Soho House for a Halloween party in 2017, where the prince went incognito.
Meghan also included the club in her wedding festivities, celebrating her bachelorette party with two nights at the Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds surrounded by her closest friends and family. This particular property is quite close to the couple's country home in Oxfordshire and a likely regular hangout for the pair.
This is the couple's second trip to Europe this summer, having also visited their A-list pals George and Amal Clooney at their Lake Como villa. According to royal reporter Omid Scobie, the actor personally flew the royal pair to Italy, where he and Harry shot hoops and checked out his motorcycles while Meghan and Amal lounged by the pool with twins Ella and Alexander.
