Princess Madeleine up and moved her gorgeous family of five to Miami , sadly leaving her extended family back in Sweden. In a rare comment about her sister, Crown Princess Victoria opened up about their special bond, saying it’s “awful” that Madeleine now lives so far away from her. It’s not easy being far from family, especially when it comes to leading the busy and unique life of a Swedish royal.
And Victoria is so busy, in fact, that even while she was in the United States for the United Nations Summit in New York last week, she wasn’t able to tack on an extra few days to visit Florida, where Madeline resides with her husband Chris O’Neill and their three young kids – Princess Leonore , 4, Prince Nicolas, 3, and six-month-old Princess Adrienne . When the 41-year-old was asked if she’d be paying them a visit, she responded: “I wish! It would have been great fun to see both her and her family, but it may be another time.”
The brunette beauty, who was in the Big Apple to give an inspiring speech about marine conservation, opened up about the important cause. “It has been a good trip. We have managed to bring in both Swedish promotion events and the UN points that are so incredibly important,” she told the crowd. And it was a packed week for the mother of two, who also made it to a summit on the global refugee crisis as well as a meeting on urban food systems and nutrition, a topic that the royal is very passionate about.
News of the family of four’s exciting move across the pond came at the beginning of Aug., when the Swedish palace announced that the “time and opportunity for the United States is good for the family when the children are still in pre-school age.” They packed up their winter clothes in London, where they have lived since 2015, and traded them in for sunhats and sunscreen! But rest assured, the royal mom is still very much involved with her patronages, like her work with the World Childhood Foundation.
