Meghan Markle may have enjoyed a bit of downtime while her pal Misha Nonoo was in town, a welcome reprieve from her hectic schedule of engagements and preparations for her first-ever royal tour in two weeks. The fashion designer was in the country for an event this weekend, staying at a hotel that’s definitely close to the Duchess of Sussex’s heart: Cliveden House, where she stayed with her mom, Doria Ragland, on the eve of her royal wedding. Since it’s about an hour from London, her duchess friend may have taken a trip down memory lane to see her.
It wouldn’t be a surprise, considering how close the pair is! Meghan has long been a fan of Misha’s designs, which have seen her through many pivotal moments – from the very first time she stepped out with Harry last year for Toronto’s Invictus Games in a white button-up shirt to the pleated midi skirt she recently wore for the launch of her first solo charity project , Together: Our Community Cookbook (then Princess Beatrice wore it, too !) But they have a deep connection that goes far beyond fashion, having travelled the world together. The Bahrain-born designer is also one of the potential cupids who brought Meghan and Harry together back in 2016 .
The fashion designer, who starred on Anna Wintour’s competition series The Fashion Fund and was in town for the Cliveden Literary Festival, shared a glimpse into her lavish holiday on Instagram. She captioned a stunning landscape snap: “Hard to beat a view like this. The chicest of settings at Cliveden House for this weekend’s literary festival.” Clearly showing why she and Meghan became such fast friends years ago, Misha also shared photos of the panel discussion, which revolved around female power, with speakers like lawyer Cherie Blair and TV broadcaster June Sarpong.
The hotel, which ranges from CA$742 to $2,060 per night depending on the day, offers guests a reprieve from city life in the beautiful landscape of rural, green England – and just 14km away from Windsor Castle. The day before her wedding, it was reported that Meghan and her mom, Doria Ragland, stayed in the hotel’s Spring Cottage, which rings it at about CA$3,428 per night. The cottage can house six guests and has a bathroom, two lounges, a small office and a kitchen.
