Lady Amelia Windsor looks unrecognizable in new makeup campaign

By Meaghan Wray

Everyone has their trademark look – Meghan Markle has her messy bun, Duchess Kate has her Chelsea blowout and Lady Amelia Windsorhas her long blonde locks. But the 23-year-old royal switched it up in a new campaign for beauty brand Illamasqua – and you won’t recognize Britain’s “most beautiful royal” in this gothic shock!

Marking the brand’s 10 th anniversary with her first-ever turn as a beauty model, Amelia traded her typically blonde hair for a jet-black wig with bangs, paired with a black lip, dark eye and rocker-chic outfit. Though her style normally leans towards the bohemian, the fashionable royal has been known to rock some edgier looks (think: the most recent Dior show in Paris), so we imagine she had lots of fun with this one! Another shot show the young royal with bold purple shadow and a bright red lip, rocking huge bouncy blond curls. For her final look, we see a much more recognizable Amelia – slightly tousled blond hair and a beautiful smoky orange eye that’s perfect for fall.

It’s no surprise that the young beauty has ventured into modelling, as she’s a regular fixture during fashion week, was once voted the most beautiful royal by Tatler and appeared on a recent cover of the magazine . She’s also modelled for Penelope Chilvers – the designer of Duchess Kate’s favourite boots! – and Dolce & Gabanna . But signing with Illamasqua marks an even more official entry into her career.

A French and Italian student at the University of Edinburgh and the 38th person in line to the British throne, Amelia is signed to Storm, the same modelling agency where industry icons Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne got their start. Back in 2017, Amelia chatted with British Vogue about her foray into fashion, and what she hopes to learn: “I would love to make a contribution to any aspect behind the creative process. On my year abroad [to Paris and Rome], I want to really further my understanding of every aspect of a fashion house.”
