All the best photos from Prince Harry and Meghan's first Invictus Games as a married couple

It's hard to believe that just a year ago, Prince Harry and Meghan were debuting for the first time as a couple at the Toronto Invictus Games. On the evening of Oct. 20, the now-married (and newly pregnant!) couple attended the opening ceremony of the games in Sydney – and what a fashionable, loved-up statement they made!
Due to severe thunderstorms which hit the Sydney Opera House – the night's venue – the ceremony had a delayed beginning. The parents-to-be enjoyed a reception at the Bennelong Restaurant at the iconic site and watched the Jaguar Land Rover driving Challenge on Cockatoo Island.

Though she missed the cycling event earlier in the day on Oct. 21 to rest, Meghan stepped out in style for a reception hosted by the Australian Prime Minister at The Pavilion Restaurant. She paired a black turtleneck and matching jeans with a pinstriped white blazer, a recycled black and white striped shoulder bag by Aussie label Oroton and her fave Aquazzura Deneuve Bow slingback pumps.

Though his pregnant wife Meghan ended up skipping the Invictus Games cycling time trial event on Oct. 21, the Duke of Sussex was his typically charming self, joking around with competitors - and being asked to sign a pair of budgie smugglers? (That's men's Speedo-style swimwear, for those of us on this side of the pond!). He politely declined!

Duchess Meghan turned to an old favourite designer Stella McCartney for her elegant look that evening. She dressed the tiniest of baby bumps in a navy dress by the British designer, along with a gorgeous coat by Gillian Anderson for Winser to keep herself warm. She styled her hair in her signature messy bun – a sweet homage to her former life as Harry's American girlfriend.

In true Harry fashion, the prince showed off his big heart and charm while speaking during the opening ceremony. He said: "These games were created for our men and women in uniform," adding that he was inspired by America's Warrior Games and his own experience as a soldier, having toured twice in Afghanistan.

Naturally, he couldn't help but touch upon baby Sussex, who is due to arrive in spring 2019. "First of all, thank you for the welcome you have given Meghan and I over the last few days," he said. "I have been so proud to be able to introduce my wife to you and we have been so happy to be able to celebrate the personal joy of our newest addition with you all."
