Duchess Meghan reunites with a fan she used to message on Instagram during her acting days

Before Meghan Markle was the Duchess of Sussex, she had a wildly popular Instagram account and now-defunct blog called The Tig. While acting was her full-time job, she spent a lot of her time off-screen inspiring people – especially women – through her social media accounts. And on Oct. 30 during a walkabout in Auckland, she finally got to meet one young woman whose life she touched many years ago.
While walking along the city’s Viaduct Harbour, Meghan was spotted by the young girl, Hannah, and she quickly walked over to chat and give her a hug. The two used to correspond through direct messaging on Instagram, where Hannah says the TV star was an amazing cheerleader. “She would tell me to do well at university and encourage me to by myself.” And the mom-to-be was thrilled to see a familiar face. “My gosh, how are you? It’s so good to meet you,” Meghan said to Hannah, according to her Twitter account .
Today also saw Meghan reunited with a fan she used to chat to via Instagram DMs. @1NewsNZ captured the moment @bellisariho met the Duchess face to face (and gave a letter).

This particular walkabout was full of fun interactions, especially with adorable kids (some even dressed up in costume!) Ten-year-old Max Henry managed to score not one, but two selfies with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, completing his “Fab Four” collection after first nabbing two photos with Prince William and Duchess Kate when they visited the same spot in 2014.

The parents-to-be also took time to encourage a young businesswoman! Suits alum Meghan met Katharina Weischede, an 11-year-old entrepreneur who founded an online business called Slime Princess. Inspired by Meghan’s own passion for female entrepreneurs, the little girl said that the LA native told her to “keep doing what you’re doing!”

Despite the rainy weather, the duke and duchess – who are set to welcome their first baby in the spring of 2019 – spent a lot of time graciously meeting fans who had been waiting for them since the early morning. After greeting as many people as they could, the couple headed inside to support Pillars, a New Zealand-based charity that supports the children of imprisoned parents. There, the couple gave out awards to some of the beneficiaries and met with some of the sweet kids taking part in the charity’s 30 th birthday party!
