The ‘Fab Four’ will join these European royals at Prince Charles' glittering birthday gala
By Meaghan Wray
November is a big month for the Royal Family – especially Prince Charles, who’s ringing in his 70 th birthday on Wednesday (Nov. 14). The ‘Fab Four’ will be joining forces once again as they get decked out in their finest to toast the future king at a glittering gala, joined by a roster of equally glamorous European royalty who will touch down in London for the event. The exclusive guest list has been kept under wraps, but there are more than a few royal faces bound for Britain!
It goes without saying that Her Majesty and Prince Philip will be one of many making an appearance at Prince Charles’ birthday celebrations. In fact, the Queen herself is opening the doors of her home to host the private gathering at Buckingham Palace, with a reception in the State Rooms followed by a dinner. Though Prince Philip has been keeping a low profile since retiring from royal duty, he’ll surely do his best to be there to celebrate his son’s milestone year. Prince William and Kate as well as Prince Harry and Meghan will be on hand to enjoy the festivities, too!
Other members of the British Royal Family will be there to fete Prince Charles’ life. The Duke and Duchess of Kent, Princess Anne and Timothy Laurence, the Earl and Countess of Wessex and the York family – Prince Andrew, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie – will be dusting off their best looks for the party.
The beautiful Danish couple Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary , who hosted their own birthday gala when the future king turned 50 earlier this year, confirmed their attendance two weeks ago on their family’s website. It’s no surprise, given their closeness to the British royals – Frederik attended Prince Harry’s Invictus Games in Sydney last month, and Prince Charles and Camilla were guests of the couple during their Diamond Jubilee tour in 2012. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are also slated to join in on the fun, their first meet-up with Prince Charles since their public engagement in July of last year.
King Harald, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway will all be joining the British royals at Buckingham Palace. Despite the Norwegian princess’s diagnosis with chronic pulmonary fibrosis, it’s assumed that she will make the trek to England since she has stepped out for royal engagements since revealing her health struggles. Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands, who abdicated the throne in April 2012, will be in attendance as well.
