Prince William and Kate visit South Yorkshire: All the photos

They may have a glittering evening ahead of them toasting Prince Charles' 70th birthday at the Queen's Buckingham Palace bash, but first Prince William and Kate stepped out for a few engagements in South Yorkshire on Wednesday (Nov. 14). Stealing glances and giggles at one another, the couple first opened the new McLaren Automotive Composites Technology Centre in Rotherham and got a firsthand look at how the internal shell of the sports cars is made. They then visited Barnsley's local Centrepoint hostel, which provides beds for homeless youth, a cause close to the parents-of-three's hearts.

Duchess Kate was all smiles as the couple arrived at the McLaren centre, clad in a beautiful blue coatdress by Eponine London - a royal rewear that fans previously saw when she visited the Anna Freud centre in 2017. The royal anchored the look with her navy suede Rupert Sanderson Malory pumps.

In her ears, Kate wore the diamond and sapphire earrings from Princess Diana's collection that were a gift from her husband. The royal reportedly had the studs, as they were worn by her late mother-in-law, converted into dazzling drop earrings.

The McLaren "tubs," or inner shells, are extremely lightweight, but another feature of the new facility is one the parents can really get behind - it's helping to create 200 new jobs for the community.

Prince William and Kate chatted with residents and visitors at Centrepoint hostel in Barnsley, which helps to feed and shelter up to 60 homeless youth. Prince William has been a patron of the charity since 2005, following in the footsteps of former patron Princess Diana.
