Prince William and Kate visit servicemen and women in Cyprus: All the best photos

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge touched down in Cyprus on Wednesday (Dec. 5) to meet with servicemen and women at RAF Akrotiri. In the spirit of the holiday season, Prince William and Kate wanted to honour those serving for their country – all of whom will sadly be missing their families during Christmas this year.
This kindhearted visit follows a Christmas party that the duke and duchess hosted at Kensington Palace, where they met with families of the military personnel who are spending Christmas apart from their loved ones on military duty. They even brought along some of the gifts from partners and children they'd seen the day before to hand deliver to their military family members!

The couple disembarked the Voyager ministerial jet together as they landed on the Mediterranean island. They've made a huge effort this year to show their gratitude to military members and their families - for whom Kate shared kind words during a speech yesterday. "Not only are we grateful for you coming here to join our party, but also for the sacrifices you make on a daily basis on behalf of the nation."

Showing off their senses of humour, Prince William appeared to be cracking a joke to the pilots just after they got off the plane.

The duke and duchess looked perfectly put-together for their visit to the base. Kate dazzled in her military green 'Duchess' blazer by Canadian label Smythe, paired with a white top and wide-legged trousers. She accessorized the ensemble with a green crocodile-print belt, L.K. Bennett's Dora Khaki suede clutch and a pair of green suede pumps. Meanwhile, her husband looked dapper as ever in a navy-blue suit and light blue shirt.

The Duchess of Cambridge listened intently as her husband spoke, looking beautiful in her chic outfit. She rocked a half-up, half-down hairstyle and wore pretty gold Asprey hoop earrings and a simple makeup look.

Prince William addressed the crowd in a heartfelt speech, honouring their service to the country as they spend the holidays apart from their families. Given that the father of three has also served in the military, he truly knows the sacrifice they make. "Thank you for your commitment and thank you for your sacrifices," he said. "We are in your debt and Catherine and I feel very lucky to be able to spend time with you today."

"From my time in uniform, we both know a bit of what it feels like to balance your work commitments with your family life," William said in his speech."You all put duty first, and so do your families, some of whom we had the chance to meet yesterday at a party at Kensington Palace." The couple also had a blast showing off their megawatt smiles as they chatted with the RAF servicemen.

The parents of three chatted with deployed personnel who are engaged on operations in support of Operation Shader, the UK’s contribution to an ongoing campaign fighting against terrorism. They shared sweet details from yesterday's party, spilling on the kids' sweet treats. "There was a lot of chocolates and marshmallow consumed yesterday. The kids were running wild," said the prince. "It was lovely to see them having so much fun," Kate added.
