The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s adorable kids were back home as they made a quick trip to Cyprus, but Prince George made sure to put an order in for a special keepsake. And knowing his adoration for things that fly, this one won’t come as a shock to fans…
Prince William and Kate touched down in Cyprus at RAF Akrotiri on Dec. 4 to pay a visit to military personnel spending the holidays serving their country. After chatting with the servicemen and women for a while, the couple joined them for a festive dinner and got to talking about their families. Naturally, the Cambridge kids came up in conversation, too!
While Kate revealed the sugar highs that ran rampant at Kensington Palace the day prior, as the couple hosted a Christmas party for military families, their own children were sadly unable to attend. The duchess mentioned their disappointment at finding the party all cleaned up when she rushed them over after school, but Prince William chimed in about a special gift that their five-year-old son had requested. “I told George this morning we were going to see the pilots today, and he said, ‘If you see a helicopter, can you take a picture?’” We’re more than certain that his doting dad obliged!
George’s loved of airplanes is well documented! Royal watchers will remember a particular Kodak moment while the little prince was with his parents in Germany last year. He got to climb aboard a helicopter, and could hardly contain his excitement as he looked out from the vehicle with wonder in his eyes.
The 36-year-old prince also got to talking about a passion of his own – football! While sitting at the dinner table, William posed the question: “Are any of you football fans?” Met with a look from his wife, he apologized as Kate added, “You’re not going to find an Aston Villa fan everywhere.” But Prince William proved her wrong, teasingly responding: “I’ve found one already, actually!”
