Sweden’s royal kids are getting in the festive spirit – see the sweet photos!

By Meaghan Wray

Yesterday marked St. Lucia’s Day for Sweden, Norway and Finland, and adorable Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar were keen to celebrate the festival of light! Their mom, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, was on hand to capture the adorable Kodak moment as her two tots posed in their white robes and headpieces.

And the two are clearly stars – literally! Two-year-old Prince Oscar’s ensemble was truly intergalactic – he can be seen wearing a cone-shaped hat with stars all over it and holding up the biggest golden star. The smile across his face shows just how proud he is to be standing beside his sweet older sister, six-year-old Princess Estelle, who looked picture perfect in a white dress with red sash and a crown with electric candles around it.

The Dec. 13 holiday is a very meaningful day, as it honours the life of a young girl who would sneak food and water to persecuted Christians. She wore candles on her head to keep her hands free in order to carry as much as possible. The day is meant to be a feast for those who celebrate the holiday, which used to take place on the shortest day of the year, the Winter Solstice – which is why it’s called the festival of light.

This isn’t the first time the mother of two has been behind the lens. Back in the summer, while vacationing at the end of August, Prince Daniel and Victoria shared a series of photos they took of their children. Two particular shots really warmed the hearts of royal watchers – one of Estelle bonding with a pony and one of Oscar cleaning a horse’s bridle! Of course, a photo of the siblings cuddling was the cherry on top of the adorable photo set.
