When Meghan Markle attended Christmas services with the Royal Family as Prince Harry's fiancée last year, the move was both highly unusual and filled with excitement. Fans couldn't wait to get a glimpse of the future royal bride's first public curtsy to the Queen outside the church alongside seasoned senior royal Duchess Kate - and the actress did not disappoint. Now she's had a year to hone the skill and her deep curtsy at St Mary Magdalene on Dec. 25 showed the fruits of her practice.
Clad in a navy ensemble, the mom-to-be confidently clasped her hands together and bowed her head on Tuesday as she placed one leg behind the other and bent her knee to the monarch - an age-old sign of deep respect. Last year, the 37-year-old's gesture was less deep as she clutched her Chloe handbag and she relied on Prince Harry to tell her exactly when to curtsy.
The Duchess of Sussex is proof of just how much can change in a year! The former Suits star now has her royal wedding to Prince Harry and first official tour behind her and a blossoming baby bump to dress - and the pregnant royal showed off her style credentials once again in her chic holiday ensemble. Meghan paired a Victoria Beckham coat and leather boots with a navy v-neck dress, dark handbag and gloves and a black hat festooned with fabric feathers.
Meghan returned to the church with her husband, his brother Prince William and Duchess Kate, as well as her father-in-law, Prince Charles. The 'fab four' was all smiles as they walked down the path to the Sandringham church, with the duchesses happily chatting with each other and fans. They were joined by other members of the Royal Family, including Princess Beatrice, newlyweds Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, Zara and Mike Tindall, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex and more. Prince Philip and the Duchess of Cornwall, who has been suffering a cold, missed the festivities this year.
