When Duchess Meghan took a tour of London’s National Theatre on Wednesday (Jan. 30), she didn’t just dazzle onlookers outside. Inside the theatre, she met with a young group of students who were clearly smitten by one of their favourite royals!
The cute moments between the pregnant royal and the group were all caught on camera. At one point, the 37-year-old can be seen smiling adorably at a young boy who, face in hands, is beguiled by the royal’s presence. In another, the mom-to-be was photographed beaming while watching the thespians perform a five-minute performance of War Horse.
“You guys did an amazing job when I saw you perform right before Christmas,” she told them of the sneak peek she had of their production in December. “I snuck in and watched. It was great, I didn’t want to leave. So this will be like a take two. But you’re much quieter than when I was last here!”
Many of the students knew they were going to be visited by a special guest on that day, but they weren’t sure who. According to People, one young woman was completely shocked that it was a member of the Royal Family.
“I thought maybe it was the Duke of Edinburgh or George Ezra. But then when they said it was a female VIP I thought, ‘Yes! Rita Ora!’” Kroni Pacolli, 10, told the publication. “I never thought I’d perform in front of the royal family and meet a royal! I’ve only ever seen her on TV. I’m speechless... She came and shook my hand and I’m never going to wash this hand again!”

Her day at The National Theatre marked Meghan's first official visit to the theatre, which is now one of her patronages. Late last year, she had a secret meeting there with the director, Rufus Norris. During the tour she learned about the work the organization does, and even met some of the teams and apprentices working behind the scenes. Before watching the primary school pupils' performance, the former Suits star joined a workshop with members of the Pericles company, and toured the different departments in the theatre, including carpentry, metalwork and painting.
Meghan looked amazing in a blush pink ensemble by Brandon Maxwell. The top and blazer combo hugged her growing baby bump, and her fabulous lace-up nude heels by Aquazzura were the very same shoes she wore to her and Prince Harry's first official photocall together when they announced their engagement in 2017.
