Royal highlights of the month – March 2019

Cheers to Queen Máxima! In celebration of the 300th anniversary of beer brewery Baravia, the Netherlands queen enjoyed a sip of beer.

Her Majesty loves her horses! On March 28, the Queen fed carrots to a horse trained by Paul Nicholls (pictured) at Manor Farm Stables in Somerset, United Kingdom.

Th Queen's outfit made us green with envy! The monarch dazzled in a bright green coat dress, paired with a matching cap with flowers, black gloves, black shoes and her go-to handbag for the fun-filled morning. She was meeting with staff during a visit to King's Bruton School, where she helped mark the School's 500th anniversary and opened the new music centre.

On March 20, Prince Harryvisited a school in London, where he helped students plant a tree, just in time for the first day of spring!

The day before, Harry and Duchess Meghan made a surprise appearance at New Zealand House in London, where they left a bouquet of flowers in memory of the victims of the March 15 terror attacks in Christchurch.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were met by Jerry Mateparae, the New Zealand High Commissioner to the UK, when they arrived, and performed the Hongi, the Māori greeting.

The couple also signed a book of condolences for the New Zealand victims.
“Our deepest condolences. We are with you,” Meghan wrote, next to Harry’s signature. The duke wrote “Arohanui” next to his signature, which means “best wishes” in Maori.

The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out with the Queen on March 19 for a rare joint engagement at King's College, London. Kate looked gorgeous in grey, while Her Majesty stunned in pink!

Later in the day, Kate removed the black fascinator she wore for her outing with the Queen for a visit to the Foundling Museum, where she let her long locks flow freely. While at the museum, she learned about how it uses art to make a positive contribution to society from marginalized people.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall kicked off a 12-day tour of the Caribbean on Sunday (March 17). On Tuesday (March 19), Charles met up with Lionel Richie and the two got in some laughs because of a pun Charles made about one of Lionel's biggest hits!

The world looks forward to Duchess Kate and Prince William's St. Patrick's Day event each year. As is custom, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the 1st Batallion of the Irish Guards in Hounslow, London on March 17. Kate wore a very glam green Alexander McQueen coat for the occasion, and matched a green clutch with it. On her feet? Gianvito Rossi suede pumps.

On March 16, Wales won the rugby Six Nations Championship, and Prince William was on hand to present captain Alun Wyn Jones with the trophy. Wales were victorious in a shocking upset of Ireland, winning the Grand Slam for the fourth time in 14 years against the defending champions, who they thumped 25-7.

The following day, Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark attended the inauguration of the Open Architecture Exhibition in Toronto. He toured the exhibit before heading off to the city's Design Exchange museum for the conference "SAMARBEJDE: PARTNERSHIP Denmark & Canada's path to Innovative Cities."
