The Duchess of Cambridge started her week by greeting her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Sussex, with a kiss! Kate said hello to a glowing Meghan with a friendly smile and peck on the cheek at the Commonwealth Day Services at London’s Westminster Abbey on March 11. Prince Williamalso greeted the former Suits star the same way, while he said hello to his brother Prince Harry with a firm handshake.
The event marked the 70 th anniversary of the Commonwealth, which encompasses 53 countries, including Canada.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were the first of the Fab Four to arrive at Westminster Abbey. They arrived just behind The Queen, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. Kate dazzled in a bright red Catherine Walker military style coat, pairing it with a matching cap, a grey clutch and grey suede pumps. Prince William looked dapper in a navy suit, matching his red tie to his wife's ensemble.
Prince Harry and Meghan arrived at the Abbey looking refreshed and relaxed after their visit to Canada House earlier in the day. Duchess Meghan wowed in an outfit by Victoria Beckham and a crisp white coat, topping her look off with a white circular hat and accessorizing with a black clutch and chic pumps. She first attended the Commonwealth Day Services in 2018.
This was the second get-together for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in just over a week. The group last came together on March 5 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Prince Charles’s investiture. The Queen hosted a reception to mark the anniversary of the day Charles became the Prince of Wales. That happened on July 26, 1958, when he was only nine years old.
