The Duchess of Cambridge spent Thursday (March 28) morning having lots of fun with children, and she looked cool in comfortable casual wear for the event at the Scouts organization’s headquarters at Gilwell Park in Essex. Kate arrived wearing what appears to be her maroon J. Crew Mockneck Sweater in Super Soft Yarn, black jeans, a dark brown jacket, and her Chloe boots. She even wore a Scouts scarf!
We’ve seen Kate in those boots and that sweater once already this year, when she wore them to a visit at King Henry’s Walk community garden in London’s Islington borough back in January.
The children were very pleased to see her when she arrived in Essex, and greeted her with shouts and cheers. She was given flowers, and like the great mom-of-three that she is, leaned down attentively to listen to the children who came to say hello.
Kate spent her day helping the children with workshops that sound like lots of fun! She got involved in boat building and even helped them make balloon rockets. The site also boasts kayaking and rock climbing facilities. The goal of the workshops was to help improve the children’s communication and teamwork. The duchess will also help plant a tree before she says goodbye.
Kate, who was a Brownie as a child with her sister Pippa, has a lot of experience with the Scouts organization. She volunteered there when she and Prince William lived in Wales after their marriage. The duchess was at the organization’s headquarters on Thursday to learn about the Scouts organization’s plan to bring its programming to younger children who are four and five years old. The park is celebrating its 100 th anniversary this year.
