It’s just about wedding season, and fans of the Royal Family are being blessed with yet another Windsor Castle ceremony! Lady Gabriella Windsor and Tom Kingston announced their engagement in September after Tom popped the question on the island of Sark off the coast of France in August. Fans finally have an official date – and when they’ll wed means a lot to Prince Harry and Meghan.
The beautiful duo will say “I do” at St. George's Chapel on May 18, just one day off from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's nuptial date last year. The Sussexes married on May 19, 2018 in one of the most-watched royal weddings ever. Gabriella, 38, will also enjoy her wedding reception at Frogmore House, just like Harry and Meghan. But it will be held in the afternoon instead of the evening.
“It will be a private wedding for family and friends,” a source revealed to People, adding Gabriella and Tom’s wedding will differ in another way, too: the couple won’t have a carriage procession around Windsor. They also won’t have an audience of well-wishers watching their nuptials outside the church, meaning it will be a much more intimate affair.
Right now, it’s not known whether the Queen will attend. She wasn’t at the wedding of Lord Freddie Windsor, Gabriella’s brother. Prince William may not be able to make it, since the ceremony falls on the same day as the FA Cup Final. William is the President of the Football Association, so he usually has to present the trophy to the champions.
Gabriella works as a freelance writer for publications such as The London Magazine, and is also the senior director of Branding Latin America. Tom began his career as a member of the Diplomatic Missions Unit of the UK Foreign Office, and worked in Baghdad, Iraq for three years, according to Town & Country. While there, he helped negotiate the release of hostages as a mediator. After that, he moved into the business world, and worked as an analyst until 2017. He’s now an investor, and also once reportedly dated Pippa Middleton, Kate’s sister!
