Breaking news: Duchess Meghan is in labour

By Zach Harper

Baby Sussex is on the way!Duchess Meghan went into labour early Monday morning.

HELLO! royal correspondent Emily Nash tweeted the news, and it sent the internet into a complete frenzy:

The news was confirmed by Buckingham Palace shortly thereafter, when they issued the following statement: “The Duchess went into labour in the early hours of this morning. The Duke of Sussex was by Her Royal Highnesses’ side. An announcement will be made soon.”

Meghan was believed to be a week overdue, and fans were camping out outside Windsor Castle in anticipation for the newest member of the Royal Family to arrive. HELLO! UK reported Meghan was having a home birth, and was using a midwife and a doula to help her bring Baby Sussex into the world.

A few weeks ago, Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, reportedly arrived in the UK, and had been helping Meghan and Harry get ready for their first child’s arrival.

Earlier this month, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan announced they were keeping their birth plans private.

Baby Sussex’s arrival means we’ll soon know the newborn’s name. Last month, HELLO! Canada asked readers to vote on the baby’s name, and their choice was an emotional one: Diana came in first place with 21 per cent of the vote, followed closely by Victoria and Alexander. Expect bets on the child’s name to skyrocket following this news!
