Who could be royal baby Archie's new godparents?

It’s been a big week for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who welcomed their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, on May 6 and debuted the bundle of joy at Windsor Castle two days later.
Now that the world has caught a glimpse of the royal baby, fans of the family are eagerly awaiting more news... Like who will be the little one’s godparents?
There are more than a few duos to choose from between Harry and Meghan’s famous and royal friends, from George and Amal Clooney to Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian.

The actor, who shares a birthday with Archie, revealed some bad onews on <em>Jimmy Kimmel Live!</em>: He likely won’t be chosen to be a godparent. “That would be a bad idea,” he said. “I shouldn’t be the [godfather]. I’m a father of twins, I can barely do that.”
<p>Pressed further, the 58-year-old laughed and said, “I’m not going to be the godfather. I promise you that. I’m fairly sure.”
<p>While taking some well-deserved time out of the limelight in the summer of 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan took <a href="https://ca.hellomagazine.com/royalty/02018082046800/prince-harry-meghan-markle-visit-george-amal-clooney-lake-como"><strong>a quick trip to Lake Como, Italy</strong></a>, where they spent a weekend with their Hollywood pals, <a href="/tags/0/amal-clooney/"><strong>George</strong></a> and <a href="/tags/0/amal-clooney/"><strong>Amal Clooney</strong></a>. It was reported Meghan helped Amal with her twins, <Strong>Alexander</STRong> and <strong>Ella</strong>, while Harry played some pick-up basketball with George.

Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian
Meghan and Serena’s friendship runs very deep. The two first met at a 2010 Super Bowl party, and have been inseparable ever since – even from different continents.
The tennis champ has shown her support for her royal friend many times, and Meghan was even spotted wearing one of Serena’s designs while on royal tour in Australia. Duchess Meghan was also seen in the Wimbledon stands with Duchess Kate, showing her support last year.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas
Priyanka and Meghan have been industry pals since they met in 2016 at the ELLE Women in Television event. Since then, they’ve been inseparable, and the Quantico star even made the trip across the pond to see her BFF walk down the aisle.

James Blunt and Sofia Wellesley
James and Harry have a very special bond. They served in the military together and become even closer with the singer’s involvement in the prince’s Invictus Games Foundation.
The “You’re Beautiful” singer and his wife Sofia Wellesley attended Meghan and Harry’s wedding on May 18, 2018, and they are likely contenders for godparenthood.

Victoria and David Beckham
The Beckham power couple have been friends with the Royal Family for many years. They attended the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding in 2011, as well as Meghan and Harry’s nuptials.
Princes William and Harry are soccer lovers, so it’s no surprise they became close with David. Perhaps they’ll be Archie’s godparents, too?
