Baby-proofing a home is a big business, from gates for stairs, right down to experts you can hire to come in and ensure your home is safe and has no unforeseen hazards for your newborn or toddler. But no matter how secure their house, every parent has moments where they find their baby has crawled or toddled across whatever surface they are on in the blink of an eye... and they’re suddenly in a bit of a situation.
Duchess Kate spoke about such an incident on Tuesday (May 14) while she was visiting Bletchley Park. The mom of three revealed the anecdote when congratulated on her “beautiful family” by Mrs. Rose, one of several women who had worked at Bletchley Park, a famous codebreaking centre during World War II, with Kate’s grandmother Valerie and great-aunt Mary Glassborow.
“I turned around the other day, and [Louis] was at the top of the slide – I had no idea!” Kate said. Yikes! That must have made her breath catch in her throat!
Kate previously revealed Louis has been crawling, and in March, she said he had been “bombing around” with walkers and trying to pull himself up. George and Louis’s sister Princess Charlotte have both become known for their boisterous personalities and their love of playing outdoors, and it’s no surprise Louis has taken after his siblings! When Charlotte turned one year old in 2016, royal watchers cooed as the adorable tot was seen pushing a walker around outside in portraits taken by her mother.
Duchess Kate and husband Prince William also became an aunt and uncle last week with the birth of Archie Harrison, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s first child. The couple have repeatedly spoken about how excited they are to meet their new nephew, and William said the couple had plenty of advice to pass on. He and Kate were set to meet Archie later on Tuesday after Kate’s visit to Bletchley Park. George, Charlotte and Louis will likely meet their new cousin another time, but we bet they can’t wait!
