Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry’s royal relatives and their close friends have expressed their happiness and joy in abundant amounts since Archie Harrison was born last week. Now, makeup artist Daniel Martin, Meghan’s close friend, has gushed about what great parents he thinks they’ll be.
Daniel spoke to journalist Gayle King for her new TV documentary special, Meghan and Harry, Plus One which is set to air Friday (May 17) on CBS at 8 p.m. ET. He said during the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s official wedding photoshoot in May 2018, something Harry did really touched him.
“He’s so good with kids,” Daniel said of Meghan’s husband. “When they were doing the family portrait after the wedding with everybody, he was on the floor playing with the kids. And that’s when I knew he was going to be the coolest dad.”
As for how the couple will be as parents, Daniel didn’t hold back there, either. “Their child is going to represent what the world is now,” he said. “It’s the dawn of a new generation.”
Meghan and Harry are known for their love of simple living and are said to enjoy making most of their meals at home at Frogmore Cottage. In April, it was revealed they had a garden put in on the property so they could harvest their own food and eat farm-to-kitchen.
“I’m sure the baby’s going to be raised clean and green,” Daniel told Gayle. “She loves to cook, eating organic whenever she can. I totally see her making her own food. Totally!”
Daniel also joined the chorus of friends defending Meghan against negative attention she’s received from both the media and online trolls since she began dating Harry.
“She’s still Meghan to me,” he said to Gayle, while wiping away tears. “I know her so well, and she doesn’t deserve all this negative press.”
