The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have finally begun settling into their life as new parents to Archie Harrison, and their family home of Frogmore Cottage is proving to be the sweetest oasis they hoped for.
“Their home is so cute and warm. The energy of the space is so much better [than Kensington Palace],” a source revealed to People. “It’s a total fresh start.”
Their new lives, as any parent knows, have included 4 a.m. wake-up calls with baby Archie, which Harry revealed to a group of kids while in Oxford last week.
“When I'm awake at 4 o'clock in the morning, I'll read all these [cards],” he said while receiving gifts.
The duke and duchess spent a lot of time renovating Frogmore Cottage to make it perfect for their family of three. The house is believed to be a gift from the Queen, sounds like it’s become a magnificent five-bedroom home! It reportedly features a space for Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland to stay when she's in Windsor. The couple have also reportedly made sure to repaint the home with vegan materials.
But one of the biggest changes, was the soundproofing! Their home happens to be right beneath a flight path to Heathrow Airport, so the Sussexes took it upon themselves to make sure no noise will wake their newborn, with a $65,000 soundproofing renovation. The two also reportedly had an $86,000 green energy unit installed and created an eco-friendly nursery.
They’ve also reportedly triple glazed their windows – an alteration that will also help their home more naturally maintain heat, in line with their eco-conscious lifestyle.
