Will Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan hire a nanny for royal baby Archie Harrison?

There’s no doubt Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry are and will continue to be hands-on parents, but a little help never hurts! Just like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the couple will likely hire a nanny to help them with Archie Harrison, their first child.

Raising Royalty: 1000 Years of Royal Parenting author Carolyn Harris told Town and Country Meghan and Harry aren’t required to seek help, but probably will due to their busy schedules.

“Modern monarchs often undertake Commonwealth tours,” she shared. “Since Commonwealth tours are now shorter and involve air travel, instead of months at sea, royal children often accompany their parents.”

Once Meghan is back from maternity leave, the couple will probably be off again to another part of the world... Maybe even Canada!

Prince William and Duchess Kate have enlisted the help of Spanish nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, who is often spotted helping care for their children at numerous royal events. She was seen at Princess Eugenie’s wedding, as well as Princess Charlotte’s christening. Maria also reportedly joined them in other locations the Cambridge clan has visited on tour – such as Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

“[When] the children are present, the nanny travels with them to care for the children while their parents undertake official engagements,” Carolyn revealed to the magazine.

Royal historian Robert Lacy told Town & Country last year the Queen preferred children to stay home during these tours – a belief that’s likely a product of her own childhood.

“She had been brought up in that style herself, after all, with her parents leaving her at home and entrusting her entire schooling to a governess and home tutors,” he said.
