On June 5, Donald Trump and Melania Trump headed to Portsmouth for a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy.

Donald gave a speech in honour of America's contribution to the 1944 D-Day landings.

On June 6, 1944, nearly 150,000 Allied troops took part in the D-Day invasions. This included 14,000 Canadians at Juno Beach. In that day alone, there were 1,074 Canadian casualties, 359 of whom died. By the end of the Battle of Normandy, Canada had endured 18,700 casualties and more than 5,000 of our soldiers had died to finally liberate Europe.

On June 4, Donald Trump and Melania Trump got some more glam out of their wardrobe for a dinner at Winfield House, the US Ambassador's home in London. The first couple hosted Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla for the occasion.
Melania chose a red gown that came complete with a cape, while her husband chose a simple black and white suit with a black bowtie.

Earlier in the day, Donald and Melania visited 10 Downing Street, the home and office of UK Prime Minister Theresa May. They were accompanied by Theresa's husband Philip (left).
Donald spent the day attending business meetings with Theresa and Prince Andrew, and will head to Portsmouth on June 5 to mark the anniversary of the D-Day landings.

From the airport, the couple were airlifted to Winfield House, the US Ambassador’s residence. Donald and Melania are staying there, instead of Buckingham Palace, because the palace is undergoing extensive renovations.
