Prince William and Kate’s secret engagement you may have missed during the Trump state visit

There’s no rest for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge! While Donald and Melania Trump were enjoying their UK state visit, the royal couple were doing something secret on their own: a morning engagement in London.

Royal Foundation patrons William and Kate joined entrepreneur Sir Keith Mills and British TV producer Lorraine Heggessey for a private conversation, according to the Court Circular.

Both Keith and Lorraine – along with William, Kate, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – have been instrumental in how the foundation runs. Keith is both chairman of The Royal Foundation and Prince Harry’s Invictus Games Foundation, while Lorraine is CEO of the foundation. Details of the meeting haven’t been made public, but they likely spoke about potential future projects.

Prince Harry and Meghan also often had these types of meetings before welcoming Archie Harrison in May and his mom heading on maternity leave.

Lorraine opened up to HELLO! Canada last year about what it's been like working with the “Fab Four,” saying the 37-year-old duchess is a wonderful addition to the team.

“She's extremely articulate [and] she presents very confidently,” the 61-year-old said while in Toronto to speak at the CAMH Difference Makers Symposium.

The meeting happened just after William and Kate enjoyed a white-tie event at Buckingham Palace, where they were joined by the Queen, the US president and US first lady and other members of the Trump family.

Naturally, Duchess Kate’s fashion sense was on in full force for the dinner! She dazzled in an ethereal white Alexander McQueen gown, debuting her sash and star of the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, which is an honour Her Majesty bestowed upon her in April. She topped her ensemble off with her Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, paired with the Queen Mother’s sapphire and diamond earrings, which were borrowed from the Queen. The Royal Family Order – a portrait of the Queen on a yellow ribbon – completed her look.
