Duchess Kate met the woman who played her friend in the Lifetime movie ‘William & Kate’

Royal watchers love when British royalty and Hollywood collide – and it seems this happened during the state banquet for Donald and Melania Trump at Buckingham Palace earlier this week.

During the procession into the palace’s ballroom, Duchess Kate floated down the hallway in an Alexander McQueen gown, sided by US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin... also known as the husband of Louise Linton, the woman who portrayed Kate’s close friend Vanessa Rose Bellows in the Lifetime film, William & Kate: The Movie (2011).

While nothing is known about what Kate and Steven spoke about during their walk, they did share a hearty laugh – about the nine-year-old film, perhaps?

The mom of three stopped to greet Louise, 38, who looked beautiful in a burgundy gown, before they took their seats in the ballroom.

The Scottish actress took to Instagram to share a memory of the evening.

“Wonderful to be home in Britain!” she wrote. “An honour to attend the State Dinner at Buckingham Palace. It was a beautiful evening. #statedinner #buckinghampalace.”

Of course, the US president and first lady were also in attendance that evening.

“Your Majesty, Melania and I are profoundly honoured to be your guests for this historic state visit,” Donald said to the Queen in his speech during the banquet. “Thank you for your warm welcome, for this beautiful weather, your gracious hospitality, and Your Majesty’s nearly seven decades of treasured friendship with the United States of America.”
