Royal highlights of the month – June 2019

King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands was made a Supernumerary Knight of the Garter.
Members of the Order are chosen personally by the Queen as recognition of those who have held public office, served her personally or who have given much to their country.
The title of Supernumerary Knight is given to those who are overseas monarchs who are appointed to the Order.
Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima had lunch with the Queen as part of the ceremony.

King Felipe VI of Spain was also made a Supernumerary Knight of the Garter. He and Queen Letizia also had lunch with Her Majesty at Windsor Castle.

On June 17, Prince Harry made a speech at the Chatham House Africa Program event on Mine, Clearance, Conservation and Economic Development in Angola. He and his wife, Duchess Meghan, will visit Angola this fall on royal tour.

Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Spongebob Squarepants! Prince Albert II brought his children – Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella – to meet two of their favourite animated characters. Jacque ran for a hug, while Gabriella stayed safely behind dad.

She's back! Duchess Meghan made her first appearance in nearly a month since she and Prince Harry debuted their son Archie Harrison on May 8.
The 37-year-old looked stunning in navy blue in her brief return from maternity leave, and was positively glowing. The new mom chose a short-sleeve Givenchy dress with a matching fascinator by Noelle Stewart for the event, which she paired with a navy clutch.
Harry, meanwhile, looked his usual dashing self in his military uniform. It's the second time he's pulled it out this week. The 34-year-old wore his full regalia on Thursday (June 6) when he visited veterans at the Royal Chelsea Hospital to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
