Royal fans reach out to the Queen to wish her many happy returns on the day every time she celebrates another trip around the Sun. This year was no exception when Her Majesty turned 93.
Of course, since she’s the Queen, thanking well-wishers is a priority, and some of those who sent her birthday notes are starting to receive replies in the mail!
Royal fan Gertrude, who runs the blog Gert’s Royal Replies, writes to the family often and has been doing so since Prince George’s first birthday in 2014. She sent Her Majesty a birthday note in April, and also best wishes for Easter. Her birthday fell on Easter Sunday this year, and she celebrated both it and the holiday by stepping out for service with her family at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
On Wednesday (June 12), Gert posted the envelope and full letterhead of a reply she received from Buckingham Palace in response to her letter. “The Queen thanks you for the message you sent for Easter and on the occasion of Her Majesty’s ninety-third birthday,” the note reads. “The Queen is most grateful for your kind words and your thoughtfulness in writing as you did at this time.”

The last reply Gert received was from Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan on June 7 in response to her congratulatory note about the birth of their son, Archie Harrison. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also thanked her for her donation to The Rainforest Alliance to mark Archie’s birth.

“Her Majesty The Queen of the Netherlands would like to express her thanks for the good wishes she received on her birthday,” the note reads.
At the end of May, Prince William and Duchess Kate also sent thank-you notes to fans who had wished Prince Louis a happy first birthday. Of course, this wasn’t the first time they did something like this, either. In February, Kate sent replies to fans who wished her a happy 37 th birthday.
“It was so kind of you to write to The Duchess of Cambridge on the occasion of her 37 th birthday,” a note received by Christin Zi read. “Your thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated by Her Royal Highness, who sends her warmest thanks and best wishes.”
