Duchess Kate and Duchess Meghan both have pretty busy schedules, and have received new royal patronages and welcomed a royal baby just in the last few months alone, respectively. But royal watchers are hoping to see them enjoy a girls’ day out, and it could be sooner than they think!
On July 14, 2018, Kate and Meghan stepped out together without their husbands for the first time ever. The two were spotted looking picture perfect in the Wimbledon stands, cheering on the Duchess of Sussex’s tennis champ BFF, Serena Williams. They appeared to be having an amazing time, between sharing secrets, standing ovations and laughter.
Competition in the tennis championships began this week, and fans of the royal women are crossing their fingers to see them together again. New mom Meghan just welcomed baby Archie Harrison in May, perhaps she’ll take an afternoon off from maternity leave to cheer on her athletic bestie once again. After all, Kate broke her own maternity leave to attend in 2018, just a couple months after Prince Louis’s birth.
If the world is lucky enough to see them clapping in the stands, they’ll surely be excited to see what the royals choose to wear. Last year, Kate looked fresh and elegant in a white short-sleeved Jenny Packham dress with a polka-dot pattern and gathered fabric on the hip. She finished the look with a Dolce & Gabbana bag.
Meanwhile, Meghan – who had just returned from a whirlwind two-day tour of Ireland – was her typically chic self in a blue-and-white striped Ralph Lauren shirt and cream-coloured slacks, carrying her favourite panama hat to keep the sun’s rays at bay and an Altuzarra handbag.
Kate is a fixture in the Wimbledon stands. She has attended for many years and has worn a who’s who of designers to the tournament, from Dolce & Gabbana to Alexander McQueen. She’s also known for showing off her fun-loving nature with animated responses to the matches.
On Tuesday (July 2), she stepped out with two of her close friends while wearing a gorgeous, crisp white dress with black buttons. The mom of three looked elegant and laid back at the same time in the custom design by London boutique Suzannah. She wore a black Alexander McQueen belt around her waist, black pumps on her feet and came ready for good weather with sunglasses on her head. She looked very happy to be at the match, which was between the UK’s Harriet Dart play the USA’s Christina McHale, and smiled and laughed throughout it.
Meghan was also photographed in the stands in 2016, before she went public in her romance with Prince Harry, wearing her then-signature white button-up shirt and jeans and again supporting her best friend Serena.
