Wednesday (July 3) is a pretty big day in Princess Charlotte’s life: she will go to nursery school for the last time!
The four-year-old is set to leave Willcocks Nursery in London’s Kensington borough this week. She’s been a pupil there since January 2018, and is now set to begin school at Thomas’s Battersea in September. She won’t be the only family member there, either – Prince George has been attending the prestigious southwest London school since 2017.
Charlotte has learned a lot during her year-and-a-half at Willcocks. When she turned four on May 2, she brought a cake for her whole class, and she’s also been learning pottery, poetry, cooking and singing, according to HELLO! UK.
Charlotte will have her first day of school at Thomas’s Battersea on Sept. 5, and just like her big brother, her proud mom and dad will likely take pictures of her to celebrate the big day! When George stepped out with dad Prince William for his first day at school, the family released official portraits and the public got a glimpse of the future King in his uniform.
When Charlotte began nursery school in January 2018, she posed for a series of adorable photos taken by her mom, Duchess Kate. It’s very likely her parents will want to mark the milestone with a new set of pictures.
The little princess will also have a uniform to wear when she attends Thomas’s, which will include a navy jacket and cardigan, red polo neck top, navy pinafore and red tights in the winter, and a gingham pinafore, white blouse and plain white ankle socks in the summer, according to HELLO! UK.
The staff at Thomas’s are looking forward to Charlotte joining them, and said so earlier this year.
“We are delighted that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have decided that Princess Charlotte will join her elder brother, Prince George, at Thomas's Battersea,” Simon O’Malley, head teacher at the school, said after the Palace confirmed the news. “We greatly look forward to welcoming her and all of our new pupils to the school in September.”
It sounds like Charlotte is also excited about starting school! Last month, Kate told a well-wisher at an event in Cumbria as much.
“She said Charlotte was looking forward to school. She was very friendly,” said Helen Jones, who opened up about the conversation she had with the royal.
