‘They are basking in the glow’: Royal source opens up about Meghan and Harry’s early parenthood

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan became first-time parents to Archie Harrison just over two months ago, and they’re enjoying every minute of it.

“They are basking in the glow and enjoying each day,” a royal source told People. “As most new parents are, they’re just so excited. There’s something new every day. They’re just really happy.”

After bidding farewell to their temporary home at Kensington Palace in exchange for their family home of Frogmore Cottage, the two have likely been delighting in every moment spent with their newborn baby boy. Just this past weekend on July 6, Harry and Meghan invited a small number of their loved ones to witness baby Archie’s christening at the Private Chapel in Windsor Castle.

The christening saw less than 25 people attend, including Meghan’s mom Doria Ragland, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles and Camilla, as the late Princess Diana’s sisters, Lady Jane Fellowes and Lady Sarah McCorquodale.

“It was very, very low key,” a Windsor source shared with the glossy. “You wouldn’t have even known it was going on. It was all very well thought through.”

Archie’s mom was only confirmed a year ago and, according to the source, has formed a close bond with Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, who’s been on hand for more than a handful of special royal events.

“Having gone through her confirmation just a little more than a year ago, she forged a very close bond with the Archbishop of Canterbury,” the source revealed. “She has a particular fondness for him, having gone through confirmation as an adult, and going through that process relatively new to the U.K. and at a key point in her life.”
