Scooters, tennis lessons and fun outdoors! Here’s what we know about Prince George’s summer vacation

It looks like Prince George is having a busy summer so far! The future King is currently on a two-month break packed with fun activities. Many involve his sister Princess Charlotte and brother Prince Louis.

According to People, the Prince of Cambridge has been enjoying tennis lessons alongside champ Roger Federer. It’s previously been reported Roger is his favourite player and has been teaching George the ins and outs of the game!

The publication reports George has also been getting some free time to play with scooters at Kensington Palace. He and Charlotte have been whipping around the grounds while their nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo pushes little brother Louis in a stroller. George, who is said to have a Union Jack helmet, is currently on a luxurious summer trip to the Caribbean island of Mustique, where he celebrated his sixth birthday on July 22.

New reports also suggest George, his siblings and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will head to Balmoral Castle for a visit with the Queen and Prince Philip upon their return from the Caribbean. The visit is traditional for the royal family, given Her Majesty spends much of her summer at the estate, where she tends to matters of the Commonwealth and hosts a few public engagements.

It’s also believed the active royal will spend much of his summertime outside – something that’s important to his mom.

“Spending time in nature can play a pivotal role in helping children grow up to become happy, healthy adults,” Duchess Kate said in a statement earlier this month, when she announced her support for Backyard Nature. It’s a campaign to get kids active outdoors.

“The great outdoors provides an open playground for children to have fun and learn lifelong skills – from balance and coordination to empathy and creativity – with their friends, their parents, their carers, or their family members,” Kate continued. “I hope the Backyard Nature campaign inspires children, families and communities to get outside and engage with nature, wherever they live.”

George and his siblings may even spend some time in the Lake District in northwest England this summer. Kate often spent the warmer months there as a child. She and Prince William were recently spotted in the region enjoying a private date day at the Ullswater’s Inn on the Lake after an engagement at a local farm.

In September, the prince and his sister will head back to school at London’s Thomas’s Battersea. It will be George’s third year at the school, and Charlotte is set to start kindergarten there. The Cambridges are growing up so fast!
