Charlotte’s mom and dad, Duchess Kate and Prince William, had been competing in the race for charity, and Charlotte and her big brother Prince George had been there to cheer them on. The two watched enthusiastically from a boat of family members with their grandparents, Michael and Carole Middleton. George wore a captain’s hat and Breton shirt, while Charlotte looked confidently on in a blue-and-white striped dress with a white collar.
The hilarious moment happened when Kate and Charlotte said hello after the race finished. George had reportedly already walked away down a flight of stairs. The competition, which was being held for eight charities of Kate and William’s choice, saw Bear Grylls and wildlife conservation charity Tusk finish in first place. They were followed by TV presenter Dan Snow and London’s Air Ambulance Charity in second, and William and Child Bereavement UK in third. Kate, who was skippering on behalf of The Royal Foundation, finished seventh.
According to HELLO! royal correspondent Emily Nash, Kate encouraged Charlotte to wave to those watching them from below. They were standing just above the prize-giving stage, where The King’s Cup was to be awarded.
But Charlotte spotted someone and made a goofy face:
To get her daughter to stop, Kate then waved and held Charlotte while she made her own pretty goofy face:

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Charlotte stick her tongue out at an event! The little princess was spotted doing so while she arrived at uncle and aunt Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s May 2018 wedding at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Chapel. She’s in good company, though, since plenty of royals have made such cheeky faces at the cameras before!
