Imagine you contribute to a publication with a member of the Royal Family on the cover, and then years later, said royal becomes your sister-in-law. Trippy and practically impossible, right? Well, that actually happened to Duchess Meghan!
A photo of the 38-year-old has emerged from 2014 thanks to eagle-eyed royal watchers, and you won’t believe it when you see it! The photo, which was initially put on Instagram in a post that has since been deleted, shows Meghan holding a copy of U magazine next to its deputy editor… and Duchess Kate is on the cover!
The magazine’s headline incorrectly states Kate was expecting twins, and the issue must have been put together when Kate was pregnant with Princess Charlotte. The Sun reports Meghan contributed to the magazine with a piece about Ray Ban aviator sunglasses being her favourite shades.
Plenty has changed since this photo was taken... and that’s an understatement! Two years later, Meghan met Prince Harry and they launched a whirlwind courtship that included a trip to Botswana and PDAs at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto. That was followed by their engagement announcement that November, Meghan giving up her acting career to become a royal, their marriage in 2018, two royal tours to Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji and Morocco… and finally the birth of Archie Harrison. Phew!
We wonder what Meghan would think of this photo if she saw it! It’s pretty incredible to think she was holding a magazine featuring her future sister-in-law!
