September is just days away, and with it comes the Labour Day long weekend (in Canada, anyway) and the arrival of a new school year for kids. That includes Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who are set to start lessons next week!
Charlotte is hitting a major milestone, as Sept. 5 will be her very first day of school! She’ll join big brother George at Thomas’s Battersea, where he’s been a student since 2017.
Royal watchers likely fondly remember the day that year when the young prince was accompanied by his father, Prince William, when he arrived at the school. He looked a bit nervous, and fans couldn’t help but notice Duchess Kate wasn’t there!
That’s because George’s mom was dealing with hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness, while she was pregnant with Prince Louis. The Palace released a statement saying since she was unwell, she unfortunately wouldn’t be able to join the four-year-old for his big day.
But this year, it’s quite likely Kate will be there to see Charlotte off on the beginning of her school days!
The Cambridges released several portraits to celebrate George’s first day of school two years ago, and they’ll probably do the same with Charlotte this time. Since Kate often drops George off at the school and picks him up at the end of the day, she’s no stranger to Thomas’s Battersea or the other parents who send their children there.
“No one really gives Kate a second glance when she does the school drop-off,” a parent told the Daily Mail last year, just after Louis was born. “We have a Victoria’s Secret model doing the school run, too, and the dads are far more interested in her!”
