Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan and Archie Harrison arrive in Cape Town to begin African tour

They’ve arrived! Prince Harry, Duchess Meghan and “extra special passenger” Archie Harrison touched down in Cape Town, South Africa to begin their royal tour early Sept. 23.

The Sussexes arrived mid-morning in Cape Town on an overnight commercial flight from London that was delayed by an hour. They are on their first tour together as a family of three, and when they got off the plane, the Duchess was carrying her four-month-old son, who was adorably wrapped up in warm clothes, including a toque!

“Their Royal Highnesses are very much looking forward to their arrival in Africa tomorrow on their first official tour as a family," a royal spokesperson said ahead of their tour.

“As you well know, Africa holds a very special place in the Duke’s heart and he is looking forward to sharing South Africa with the duchess and their son. It is a really busy programme, four countries in 10 days, and we have an extra special small passenger to make things more lively.”

The family’s visit kicks off right away, with the couple due to visit a township on Sept. 23, where they will visit an organization that teaches children about their rights, self-awareness and safety, and provides self-defence classes and training to girls.

Following that, they’ll head to District Six, a former Cape Town neighbourhood where 60,000 residents were forcibly removed and relocated in the Apartheid era in the 1960s. They will visit a museum that documents the history of the area, and then will head to the neighbourhood’s Homecoming Centre. While there, they will participate in a cooking activity at the centre’s kitchen, which serves as a meeting place for District Six residents.

Their trip comes after a busy Friday, on which they attended designer Misha Nonoo’s wedding in Rome. The couple left Archie at home for the nuptials, and Meghan dazzled in a sheer black Valentino gown and earrings that cost just $8 from London's Portobello Market!

We can’t wait to see how the tour unfolds!
