South Africans the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have met on tour have been asking for more details on the couple’s adorable four-month-old son. Nazli Edross-Fakier was lucky enough to have met the royal duo when they visited her sister's home in Cape Town’s Bo Kaap district. On Sept. 24. She told CNN Meghan called Archie “the most calm, beautiful, easy baby.”
“He travels well,” Nazli said Meghan added. “He slept most of the time on her chest. And then Daddy said, ‘He’s come alive, he’s shouting and screaming and carrying on.’”
On Sept. 23, Harry shared some similar tidbits about the tiny tot during a visit to District 6 Museum in a neighbourhood that was subject to the forced relocation of 60,000 of its residents in the 1960s to 1980s during Apartheid. Harry was approached and hugged by a former resident who asked, “Where’s Archie?”
“He’s sleeping!” Harry replied, and said the little boy was with his nanny. People reports the Duke of Sussex then told another onlooker the long flight exhausted his son. “He’s not grouchy, just exhausted.”
Although officials have not yet confirmed whether Archie will be seen in public during the visit, royal watchers are hoping to catch a glimpse of the little boy. It’s also been suggested Meghan plans to donate some of his used gifts and clothing to other babies being supported by the mothers2mothers project, which trains and employs women living with HIV as frontline health workers across eight African nations.
“The Duke and Duchess were inundated with gifts for baby Archie from organizations and the general public,” a source told HELLO! UK. “They were incredibly grateful but one little baby can only wear so many clothes and he’s growing fast! So the Duchess decided to being a number of his presents to re-gift them to South African children and families most in need.”
Harry and Meghan are visiting southern Africa for 10 days. They’ll spend three days in Cape Town before Harry leaves for separate solo trips to Botswana, Angola and Malawi before returning to South Africa to reunite with Meghan and Archie in Johannesburg. The tour wraps Oct. 2.
