Happy Thursday! In what's been an absolutely *packed* week of royal events, fans were treated to an additional amazing appearance when Prince William and Duchess Kate met up with Sir David Attenborough for a special ceremony in Birkenhead.
The RRS David Attenborough, a scientific boat named after the legendary naturalist and documentary filmmaker, was officially named in a celebration on Sept. 26.

Before we get to the day's events, we need to talk about Kate's gorgeous coat! The Duchess of Cambridge arrived in a beautiful blue Alexander McQueen utility coat.
We first saw this coat in April 2014. She wore it again two months later and brought it out more than two years after in the fall of 2016. And here it is again! Kate loves to re-wear the most beloved items from her wardrobe and it makes her incredibly relatable!
The 37-year-old was also carrying a 1781 Pochette style Asprey clutch.

There was a massive crowd out to see the naming ceremony for the RRS Sir David Attenborough, which will be operated by the British Antarctic Survey and will conduct important scientific research about the Earth's poles.

David did the same! He is considered a national treasure in the UK, though he doesn't like the term, but given the incredible career he's had and the amount he's contributed to science and documenting the Earth's natural history, it's no surprise people came out in droves to see him!

This is William's third engagement with David this year. He interviewed the filmmaker and historian at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January, and also attended the premiere of David's Netflix documentary series Planet Earth in April.
This was Kate's first event with him this year, and the two seemed to really get along quite well!

David made a special speech at the event. Before the cceremony, he told BBC Radio 4 that it took a "long time for the penny to drop" on climate change, but real action is starting to happen. He said young people such as Sweden's Greta Thunberg were driving the majority of the action.
