Duchess Kate makes surprise appearance at Natural History Museum

Duchess Kate was all smiles as she arrived at London's Natural History Museum on Oct. 9 for a surprise visit!
The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out to the museum to visit its Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity to hear about how it is helping protect wildlife in the UK. It looks like she had some great fun!

As she said hello, the wind caught Kate's gorgeous hair, to which she's recently added chestnut highlights. It blew it back a bit, giving us a great look at the Asprey Woodland Collection Oak Leaf hoop earrings.

Kate was *beaming* as they went inside. The 37-year-old was in her element!
The duchess became a patron of the museum in 2013. It's worth noting that Princess Diana held the patronage until 1993.

Kate was shown some environmental models and samples during her visit, and was fascinated by them. We can imagine how enthralled she would have been when she was a child, and she's passed that love of nature on to her kids!
The duchess has already brought Prince George and Princess Charlotte to the museum many times. George's first birthday portraits were actually shot in the museum's Sensational Butterflies exhibit in 2013. We hope Prince Louis gets to come to the museum for a visit soon because he'd love it!
