They began with a visit to SOS Children's Centre to learn about its work, and then stepped out to a cricket showcase at the National Cricket Centre in the city, then made their way to the mosque. It was a busy day for them, but it looks like they had a lot of fun and learned a lot!

DAY THREE: CHITRAL
On Oct. 16, Prince William and Duchess Kate travelled to the mountainous Hindu Kush region in Pakistan's north to visit Chitral, which is close to the Khyber Pass and the border with Afghanistan.
Since the early 2000s, the region has been beset with militancy and terrorist attacks, so security around their trip was tight.
The couple visited a glacier, which they walked around and saw how it has retreated because of climate change. They were also told about how the changing climate is affecting local communities, which have recently dealt with very severe flooding. They also spoke to people in the area who had been affected by the disasters.

When they arrived in Chitral, Kate and William were given some special presents by their hosts. Kate put on a traditional Chitrali feathered cap...

William was given a long coat, too, and the couple looked very pleased. There's good reason...

William and Kate looked so happy to have been presented with the items. Kate wore the coat overtop of her outfit for hte day, which consisted of a midi brown skirt, a brown jacket, her Really Wild waistcoat and a pair of trusty boots.

The couple were taken by a helicopter up to the glacier's northern tip, so they could see how the important ecological feature in the Hindu Kush mountains is retreating due to climate change.

Chiatibo is one of 7,000 of Pakistan's 7,200 glaciers that scientists say is at risk of melting due to climate change.

The couple were told by people in the area and scientists about the impact this is having on communities. It recently caused extensive flooding.

William and Kate toured some of the damage, which was extreme.
Photo: © Neil Hall - Pool/Getty Images

They also spoke with emergency workers, and received a demonstration of how they rescue flood victims...
Photo: © Neil Hall - Pool/Getty Images

It's a job that's unfortunately becoming far more necessary due to the melting glacier.
Photo: © Neil Hall - Pool/Getty Images

They then headed to the Kalash village of Bumburet, which has been particularly hard hit by the flooding.
Photo: © Neil Hall - Pool/Getty Images

They were given a very warm welcome, despite the difficulties the residents have had lately.
The Kalash people are an indigenous group that lives in northern Pakistan near the border with Afghanistan in the Hindu Kush mountains near the Khyber Pass. They practice a religion that draws from animism, which is the belief that animals, objects and all living beings have spiritual nature. Their belief system is considered by some scholars to be an ancient form of or precedent to Hinduism. They have a very specific culture and way of life that makes them distinct from other groups of people and religions in Pakistan.

The women were particularly excited to meet Kate, and she seemed very touched by the welcome she received.

DAY TWO: ISLAMABAD
Beep beep!
On Oct. 15, Duchess Kate and Prince William finished the second day of their Pakistan tour by arriving by tuk tuk (!) at a reception held in their honour by the British High Commissioner to Pakistan at the Pakistan National Monument in Islamabad.
Earlier in the day, they'd spent time with children at a school and visited a national park in the Margalla hills, just outside the city, where they learned about important conservation initiatives underway there. Following meetings with Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi, they stepped out to the reception.... and wow! They certainly came dressed in outfits that are equal parts glamorous and respectful of their host country!

Kate looked incredible in a shimmering emerald green Jenny Packham and scarf that made her look like the true jewel she is!

We also need to talk about what Prince William was wearing, because wow! He sported a teal sherwani coat over matching pants. The outfit is by Pakistani designer Naushemian.
We really love the focus the Cambridges have put on Pakistani designers on tour so far!

As soon as they arrived, the couple were surrounded by guests who were very happy to meet them and talk about their experiences so far in the country!

William also made a speech at the event, in which he spoke about the importance of Britain and Pakistan's historic ties, and fighting terrorism.

Duchess Kate looked spectacular for her second day in Pakistan. The 37-year-old mother of three arrived at the school looking refreshed and relaxed after a good night's sleep following her arrival in the country with Prince William.
For her first engagement of the day, the duchess chose a traditional kurta - a loose, collarless shirt worn in Pakistan and other Asian countries - with matching trousers and a scarf by Pakistani designer Maheen Khan.
She wore nude flats on her feet, keeping things respectful but casual at the same time.

William and Kate were very keen to speak to the students when they arrived. The duke was doling out plenty of high-fives and the duchess was right down at eye level to say hello to all the children!

Once inside, the duke and duchess spoke to teachers about how the students are benefitting from the Teach for Pakistan program, a fast-track teacher training program based on a similar one in the UK.

They then spent time with the kids, who showed them their artwork. Kate was especially attentive to these two little angels!

Prior to leaving for the tour, a press release said the Cambridges were very interested to hear about the lives of youth on their tour, and they weren't kidding! They showed great interest in these girls' lives, asking them about their education.
Female education is critically important to the royals, with Duchess Meghan having showcased the importance of the cause on her recent tour of South Africa with Prince Harry.

William and Kate then headed to their second engagement of the day in the Margalla hills, wearing the same outfits.

They were met by staff from the national park there, who were keen to show them around.

The couple discussed the important conservation work the rangers are doing at the park.

They were also shown how the rangers remove plants that are problematic to the environment, and assisted with setting up a leopard trap!
Photo: © Chris Jackson/Getty Images

William must have said something very funny! We love how the couple are still able to make each other laugh!
Photo: © Chris Jackson/Getty Images

William and Kate later met with some more children at the park, who were doing an arts and crafts activity to learn about the importance of conservation and protecting the environment.

Following those engagements, the couple changed into more formal wear, with William in a navy suit and Kate in navy heels, cream-coloured pants and a green jacket with a patterned green scarf for a meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. Note that Kate's outfit is the colours of Pakistan's flag! This isn't the first time we've seen her wear patriotic outfits on tour. For her first trip to Canada as a royal, Kate was frequently spotted out in red-and-white outfits!

Here's a full look at Kate's second outfit of the day! She chose a green Catherine Walker tunic, white pants from Pakistani designer Maheen Khan and a scarf from Satrangi.

William and Imran seemed pleased to see each other, since they know each other quite well! The prince played cricket with Pakistan's prime minister as a boy.

Kate looked breathtaking, wearing a turquoise shalwar kameez. It's a traditional dress-and-trousers combination. The one she chose was a bespoke creation by Catherine Walker, one of her go-to designers.
She paired the look, which is easily one of the most elegant tour arrival outfits we've seen her in to date, with nude pumps and drop earrings. The duchess wore her hair down and accentuated with minimal makeup.

A huge red carpet had been rolled out for the duke and duchess, who were presented with flowers by these adorable kids.

William was just as keen to say hello to the youngsters, getting right down to nearly eye level with them to thank them for their warm welcome.
